Unidentified Clippings in The Bible of Lucresca Alice (Null) Eoff Transcriptions of clippings found in the Bible of Lucresca Alice Null Eoff, who died in 1939 in E. St. Louis, IL. Born in Hematite on 25 October 1872, Jefferson Co., MO, Lucresca was the daughter of George W. Null and Elizabeth PORTER. She married Henry Martin Eoff>. Unfortunately none of the clippings had either dates or newspapers listed. Would love to know the connections of these people to great-grandmother. 1. Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth GAMEL, an old and highly esteemed citizen of Festus, died Saturday morning after an illness of about 10 days. Mrs. GAMEL suffered a slight stroke of paralysis after which she gradually grew weaker, there being little hope of a recovery for one of her years. Grandma Gamel, as everyone knew her, was 82 years old, a type of the courageous pioneers who early settled in Jefferson county. Early in life she became a Christian, uniting with the Methodist church. Rev. R. E. FOARD of St. Louis and Rev. H.E. RYAN of Festus conducted the funeral services at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Annie CRAIG, and she was laid to rest in the Gamel cemetery."

2. NULL. -- On Saturday, Dec. 13, 1924, at 9:50 AM, Jennie L. NULL, sister of Mrs. Cora GAMACHE, Mrs. Daisy HOWE, Mrs. Jeffie CROUCH, and Mrs. Bessie SCHAFER (nee NULL) in her 49th year at her home in St. Louis. The funeral was held at Hematite last Sunday afternoon."

3. Torn (partial) clipping "…friends…and no man can say of Ferd….hat he was ever guilty of an …or ungracious act, while multi-…will recount his many acts of …and neighborly kindnesses and many…many acts of charity. He was a ..mber of the Baptist church for many ..rs and Rev. Geo. STEEL his pastor...many years will conduct the funeral services.

The interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery July 4th. The funeral cortege will leave the residence at 11 o’clock and services at Bethlehem church will be at 1 o’clock and the interment will be under Masonic supervision and according to the rites of the order. Ferd GASCHE was unassuming and was at peace with his neighbors. He believed in the fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of man and tried to live accordingly and few men came as close to doing it as he.
‘ He hath done what he ..d’ "

4. "The funeral of George W. GASCHE was held last Friday afternoon according to the arrangement. A large crowd assembled at the residence, where Rev. Homer JAHN, a half brother, and his family of Franklin county; Mrs. Matilda >SCHNEIDER, a sister, and her husband, Bernard SCHNEIDER of Marquant; Mrs. Henry BRUNS, sister, and many other relatives of both Mr. And Mrs. GASCHE were here. Besides these he is survived by a half sister, Miss Laura GASCHE of St. Louis. The postoffice was appropriately closed all afternoon and likewise the schools."
