Only small portions of T38N,R5E, T39N,R6E and T39,R7E are actually in the County. The map shows a great deal of overlap into T40N to the north.
The northern boundary of T39N is the solid horizontal line that runs just north of Olympian Village just above the middle of the map. The boundary between T39N and T38N is the horizontal line just south of Valles Mines for R5E. The only portion of T38N,R5E in Jefferson County is the triangular area just south of that line.
The western boundary of R5E is the first solid vertical line from the left edge of the map. The boundary between R5E and R6E is the line that runs north from the point where five lines meet at a single point at bottom of the map. The boundary between R6E and R7E is the horizontal line running north from the county line just east of the highway 55 "road sign".
The offset between the T39N section boundaries and the T40N section boundaries to their north is how the land was actually surveyed. The same is true of the often odd shapes of the sections in T39N.
